prepare Ourselves for prayer
Pray that we may:
•show honor for our President and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness ().
• show proper respect to everyone, love the family of believers, fear God, honor the emperor ().
• submit to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by You, Lord ().
• seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which we live. Pray to the LORD for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper ().
• humble ourselves and pray and seek Your face so that our goverment will turn from their wicked ways, so that, You may hear us from heaven, and will forgive their sin and will heal our land ().
Salvation
PRAY THAT:
• You will give Your revealing grace to our government leaders so that they acknowledge they are sinners according to Scripture. (Jeremiah 17:9 1 Kings 8:46; Romans 3:10-12)
• they understand that You O’Lord are their Sovereign Creator and demands a penalty of all sin to be punished. (John 1:3; Colossians 1:16 Psalms 103:19; Isaiah 6:3; 1Peter 1:16; Ezekiel 18:4)
• You O’Lord would reveal to them that You have provided Your Son, Jesus Christ, to die in their place, Who paid the penalty for their sins. That this enables You to forgive and save our government leaders to place their faith in You, Lord Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. (1Peter 3:18 Romans 3:26)
• our government leaders will repent and confess with their mouths that Jesus Christ is Lord and believe in their hearts that God raised Him from the dead so that they may be saved. (Romans 10:9)
• that You, Lord God, give them the strength to confess their sins to You, and actively turn away from their sin, pursue Your Son Jesus Christ and obey Him. (Luke 13:3: 1Thessalonians 1:9; John 17:3)
EVANGELISTIC PRAYER
* I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people — for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.
PRAY THAT:
• LORD, I petition You to provide salvation to those leaders You have appointed over us. I petition that You forgive them of their sins as You have forgiven us. I plead that where they lack in knowledge, you give them understanding.
• My Prayer is that You choose to save those people in our government for Your glory. By that, their saving grace will abound to Your glory.
• Help us to have empathy and sympathy for our leaders. Help the Christian church to have compassion and respect for those men and women that You have appointed as rulers. In doing so, we may know how to intercede for them on Your behalf.
• We give thanks to You LORD that the gospel offer has been extended, and that we have the privilege of reaching our leaders with Your gospel.
